Beyond Recovery… is Transformation!
We’re more than just sober living for men. Firebird offers structured, individualized, and inclusive addiction support programs to transform lifelong cycles of addiction and associated trauma. We are proud to be an established, community-focused Program which blends honored traditions with innovative, data-backed approaches to wellness.
We have three unique homes in our distinctive program. We are known for creating paths unique to each Member’s journey to recovery and sustained wellness, our curriculum creates progresses our Members through three distinct Stages of Mastery: Fundamentals, Bridgework, and Transition. Everyone begins at The Kingfisher House, our lakeside residence in North Asheville, serenely surrounded by mountain vistas. Eligibility for our Step-Down Program begins via a trial tenure at our nearby Nighthawk Cottage. Following successful residency, these Advanced Members progress to our neighborhood residence, The Redtail House in West Asheville.
Meet our Founder and CEO, Jay Joslin, with a message about how and why we began: out of a need for ethical and whole-person/whole-life focused recovery:
The following are core elements of our Program’s curriculum:
- Life Skills Enrichment (financial, practical, nutritional);
- Employment, Education, and Clinical Supports;
- Supportive Counseling for relapse prevention;
- Safety by building community & healthy supervision;
- Ongoing Growth via traditional & evolving recovery models;
- Nature journeys & seasonal adventure opportunities;
- Service requirements uplift, while uplifting compassion.
Oh, did we mention fun? Sober living doesn’t have to be somber living!
“Based on the transformation of my son while in the care of the Firebird staff, I feel very confident recommending them to any man in need of their services. They were truly a gift from God for our family at a time when we didn’t know where to turn.” – K, Mother
“Firebird Transformations is a loving, kind oasis for men who are in great need of such. I have seen my son grow and develop in ways that I thought were not possible.” – J, Father
